Sarah loved making music.\u00a0 She was an alto and played piano and violin.\u00a0 We met making music and sang together for decades with the Zamir Chorale of Boston.<\/p>\n
I am producing a Gala Jimmy Fund Benefit Concert in her memory, to raise money for Glioblastoma brain tumor research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.\u00a0 It will take place Sunday, March 26, 2023, at 3:00 PM; in-person at Temple Emanuel (385 Ward Street, Newton, MA) and live-streamed on the Internet.<\/p>\n
The concert features the world premieres of new music commissioned for this event from some of Sarah\u2019s favorite composers. Performing ensembles include The Zamir Chorale of Boston<\/em>\u00a0 and\u00a0 Koleinu, Boston’s Jewish Community Chorus<\/em>\u00a0 and several fine chamber ensembles.<\/p>\n Many forms of cancer that were once incurable are now survivable. Dana-Farber has made unparalleled progress in cancer science and treatment.<\/p>\n Sarah endured brain surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy.
